Partly depressurize suspension.

Post by seanrx »

Hi.
I have 3+ suspension on my car that has dropped due to pump failure and i plan to replace the pump only.
I can access the nipples under front of car , but maybe not the rear, my trolley jack won't reach high enough.
Will still be safe to remove hoses from LDS tank? What bad things may happen!?

Just put a couple of paving slabs or similar under the trolley jack.

Just set the suspension to low and you will have no trouble, I've done a few and never depressurised them.

If you do depressurise for any reason be careful to ensure that you have a good tight fitting hose on the bleed screw or you'll get a soaking.

Really? No depressurize. That is good to read. So fluid won't erupt everywhere, I'll have time to drain into a container?

If you take out the under wing plastic you'll find there's a join at the bottom of the hose from the pump, part it there and drain it into a bowl, you have to take that hose off altogether to get the pump off because it's a tight fit in the body panel and can't pass through, if you start at the top you'll get a wash in oil so start at the bottom and get the oil out first.
