The driver's window regulator acting weird

Unread post by TodiCroitor »

Hi guys,
Weird thing is happening to driver's window after I changed the window regulator. I did something wrong?
Take a look at this video to see what I'm talking about.

Try keeping the lift button held up for 10-15" when the window has reached the top.

I think it is catching at the top and that the anti trap feature is activating. Might be something caught in the top rail
why?

when it takes more force to push the window up, the controller assumes something is caught in it's path, like an arm, so it pulls the window halfway down.
maybe the window rails could do with some lubrication, and there might be something jammed in the top rail that means it takes more force to close.
or maybe the module/motor is faulty?
why?

Down (HOLD)....Up (HOLD) down (let go)

then try auto.....and yes, some spray household polish (silicon type) as a lube always helps

Then do a BSI reset................follow it to the letter.

From the factory manual.

Reconnect the battery.
Initialisation : Window motor with safety auto-reverse :
Close the front door (Otherwise it is not possible to close the front window)
Raise the front window step by step until it is fully closed
It is recommended to keep pressing for one second after the front window has stopped ; Using the up command
Lower the front window until it is fully open (In automatic)
Reclose the front window (In automatic)
N.B. : At the end of this procedure, the system is fully initialised.

I don't think that is the case, I think he doesn't know anymore where to stop. I goes without a problem up or down, but when it reaches up it likes it wants to go further and then of course there is no where else to go and it takes it like is an stop/arm or something and goes down a bit.

Here is the procedure for the BSI Reset
If that fails you could dismantle the control and clean the contacts with Isopropanol or a good electrical contact cleaner - not WD40!
Sometimes works.

I'm not sure, maybe it means that the door needs to be closed for the window ecu to be initialised. Complicated stuff this French electrics. :(
