Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
They dont look all that different to the electric bakers vans we had in the '50s except that they were considerably smaller and had lead acid batteries.

Do boats count as vehicles in this context?
https://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/att ... 66586.htmlIt’s hard to believe London is still having ‘firsts’, but the capital recently welcomed its only fleet of self-drive day hireboats for those who fancy an afternoon messing about on the river – although in this case, it'll be on a canal.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
When I worked in London in '54 there were a lot of electric vehicles about, Harrods used them.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
I think some of those Harrods vans go back to the 1920s! Not that I'm suggesting, Peter, . . .
Apart from battery replacement, some old EV traction and control parts more or less soldiered on for ever, including those on milk floats, trolleybuses, trams and electric trains, with relatively easy maintenance. Not a lot to go wrong!
See that the Royal Mail cutie hit BBC Breakfast News this morning. Instantly popular.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Interesting that the postman pat version of the van is only a 3d render - does that mean they haven't actually made any yet ?? Or just that they couldn't get hold of one to take a photo ? Seems odd...

Now, now, Simon - don't spoil it. The appearance of that little red thing has cheered me up no end this week!

Nearly ran in the back of a Tesla X this morning - it was waiting to turn right round a blind corner. Reg plate was TE55 LAX and it was a 90 kWh version - some people really have got too much money!!

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
I have been meaning to post a picture of the local poste car park, and finally took one yesterday.
Most of the local delivery fleet is electric now, they get a few more each year.
I think that some must be coming up for replacement soon.

Spotted another BMW i3 today and finally, my first recognition of a Tesla S and how sweet it looks too.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Spotted a white Tesla thing today... A slightly smaller one than the behemoth-sized Tesla one normally sees.
They are such a hideously ugly car
The front-end looks especially nasty. Friday afternoon job done by the apprentice by the looks of it...
