FCF's 500,000th post! Harlequin shoots & scores!

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Rather than have this momentous occasion lost within the pages of Picture(s) of the Day here's a thread of its own!

Xantia V6 has cogitated, calculated and deliberated, and made reasonable assumptions and the official 500,000th post to the FCF is this wonderfully abstract one liner when viewed with no context, very appropriate for the occasion...

Its from Harlequin.
What about the C5 reworks? 194 > 207 then 211
Chris (White Exec) did put this comment on the POTD thread

This wonderfully memorable 500,000th post needs to be embedded in our Forum masthead, as our equivalent of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "Ultimate Question" (the answer for which was, of course, "42").

Now, if FCF were to be remembered for just one thing (except Jim, naturally), this could well be it.

Zaphod B.

PS Could these be 'bus routes? Where would they take us? :dunno:

The pure numbers quoted 194, 207 and 211 are remarkable only in their unremarkableness.

207 is the number of matchstick graphs possible with eight edges. Not a lot of people know that!

They are bus routes of course in many different cities, but nothing coming together as being remarkable.

In London you can have the different routes with the destinations Waterloo, White City, and........Lower Sydenham.

Waterloo, and White City could be evocative locations but...Lower Sydenham just sounds like the world's most uninteresting destination, but then again I don't know it, so shouldn't really comment!

..and Ruislip Lido is a fascinating random link

Film location for The Young Ones, The Cruel Sea, Sink the Bismarck, and one of the Titanic films! Amongst other things...

Come on, join in with the randomness if you can, it's just for fun, and it ain't that difficult

All London Trolleybus routes were numbered 6xx, and when Routemasters replaced them, numbering became 2xx.
So 207, was the RM replacement for the electric 607, and continued to run along the A4020 Uxbridge Road: Uxbridge-Hillingdon-Southall-Ealing-Acton-Shepherd's Bush, one of the longest red bus routes in London.

Trolleybus 6xx . . . . Was there a 666? Most certainly was.

Excellent Chris, food and drink to me those old films and their musical accompaniments so much interest in them.

Big question though, are two daleks queuing to get
on the 207 bus, just too common a sight to provoke comment!

In Hexadecimal 194=C2, 207=CF and 211=D3
Now these translated into R G B values produce a colour

#C2CFD3

Translating the fulll string into hexadecimal produces a valid numberplate.....not allocated to a current vehicle, so a private plate possibility if your name is Deborah
