Hello
I've been meaning to join this forum for a while, having owned Citroen XMs for years, but I've just bought a Peugeot 205 van to go with them and am now happily commuting in it. It makes a change not to have to wait for the suspension to rise before setting off.

Welcome, eifion!
That's a splendid collection of cars. Look forward to some photos of them all.

Re: Finally joined
epecially the 205 van, I didn't know there were any over here. Is that a 205 with no side windows, the one with the 'glass extension instead of the tailgate or a real, C15 style van?

Hi Eifion
Welcome to the forum. I to like your cars, I ran 2.1 XM estates for 15 years for work and did a lot of miles in them, I would probably still have one if there were any cheap rust free ones about,
Peter

Thanks for the welcomes. The van is a 205 hatchback with no back windows (or rear seats). It looked like this when I bought it, it's shinier now, but there's still things to do on it.

Re: Finally joined
Those TU 1.1 engines are excellent! The TU engine in my opinion is one of the very best
My first exposure to the TU was in an AX in 1990. I instantly fell in love with it and that love has remained strong...
My 207 has what is essentially a TU engine in it and it's possibly the best bit of the car!

Re: Finally joined
A 1.1 AX is one thing, having to haul (most of) a 205 around & still return good mpg is something else again - which, of course, only goes to underline your experience/observations/comments.

Re: Finally joined
Good to hear from you again. I've still got my green XM from when we passed each other in North Wales a few years back while you were in the DS. Was it you that I then nabbed a lift to on the scenic drive at the following DS rally?
