How It Works: Activa Suspension

Unread post by CitroJim »

A very good technical description of how the Activa suspension system works can be found here:

http://citroen.tramontana.co.hu/en/susp ... suspension

For more general Citroen Suspension topics, including Hydractive, look here:

http://citroen.tramontana.co.hu/en/tags/guide

These pages are re-written versions of our old favourite PDF 'Citroen Technical Guide' which has been our bible for years on such subjects...

Mods: Can you please make this a 'sticky'?

What an excellent website, is there any links to this in the Citroen general area? If not, perhaps there ought to be a sticky as I've found the diesel principles part highly interesting and educational. Also, do we know the author/editor/owner of this site and if/how we can make a donation to the running of the site? Seems like a valuable resource that's worth taking steps to protect and preserve for the future. :) (I'm supposed to be outside reconnecting the injector pipework and seeing how White's engine runs now!).

Dan, that guide and website has been around for ever now. It's at least as old as this forum and this year it turns sweet 16...

The guide is one of my bibles. Like you I learned loads from it... I still have a bound copy of the PDF to this day as I can't read and absorb such items on-screen - I have to print them...

The Hydractive and Activa sections are especially good.

Jim, if you use them I believe a Kindle can manage PDF files (although I think there may be an issue with images).

If only we had a printer that worked, it'd be excellent to make hard copies... Wish I'd run across it before (perhaps I have, but I feel I would've remembered it). Going to have a further browse through now while I allow my brain to process the possibilities regarding White's injection pump.

I just can't get on with Kindles and their like at all James :( It's got to be on paper for me I'm afraid...

Luckily, I have an old mono laser printer and lots of toner here so it's no problem and very cheap for me to print anything I need on paper :)

Look for an old-school professional laser printer Dan. I've got an old HP LaserJet 4000 here and it works with Win10! They're cheap now, built like tanks and will soldier on for years in domestic use... Toner is cheap for them too and will print tens of thousands of pages per cartridge...

Nice tip thanks Jim, will have to get an eye out. No need to worry about Win10 either, 7 does all I need and more :D
