charming documentary about Caravanning, including footage of the late Sam Alper, founder of Caravans International, towing one of his Caravans to the top of a foreign mountain with a Mini (a 1970's publicity stunt).
I haven't watched it for a year or two, so I don't recall the timing of that clip, but its a nice bit of Sunday evening relaxation anyway

That's quite professional/sophisticated for D-i-Y H-camper. The one I always liked was the Swedish one in red oxide, the extra headroom was provided by the upper part of a 2CV van grafted onto the roof, surmounted by a roofrack for the inevitable vintage suitcase, old pedal car, sundry wooden boxes, etc. & the exterior odorned with, apparently randomly, selected & placed, tools, bikes, cooking utensils & the like.

I can see that has a certain appeal - although sadly lacking in character.
Funnily enough I couldn't find this thread when I was looking for it, oh, it must've been a month ago, 'cos I couldn't think where else to post this sighting:
Early one morning, barely light coming towards me on the Totnes road was, from the display of lights I couldn't see beyond, was modern tractor but as drew alongside I was surprised to see it was towing a fullsize showman's living van, in apparently good order - so not one that had just been dragged out of a field - or, even a barn. So quite why it was where it was, at that time of day AND being drawn by a tractor will remain a mystery.

If you are interested in the little R10 Romahome based on the Nemo few pictures here of 2010 van...yes you will have to part with £16,000 ish, and its only single berth...
but look at this....you can wash your dishes in a tiny sink, have the convenience of a tiny portapotti
You get the freedom and romance of the of the open road, although £16,000 would buy you a fair few weeks of decent hotel rooms or self catering cottages
Have spotted this visitor in a coiuple of places. You have to dedice for yourself as per the title of the thread whether its interesting or awful.
Not a great fan of the pickup on its own, but the camper bit grafted on over and above it seems to take it to a degree of awfulness which strangely also borders on the interesting!
looks like a very strange use of space and I would imagine the weight distribution to be far from ideal too.
I'm also reminded of my Missus old 2004 Vauxhall Agila.... that was very scary to drive on a windy motorway.
I wondered whether the appeal of something like this is that its a cheap 'bolt on' camping accessory, but having found a seemingly relevant website (although the Rangers featured there look a little older than this one) I couldn't find any prices. https://www.savagecamper.com/ford-ranger-camper/
I did note that they recommend upgrading the rear suspension though, so cheap.... probably not.
One thing going for it you can mount it and dismount it in 20 minutes Well, that is according to Tischer Freizeitfahrzeuge who make the bolt on camper bodies.
