End of the road for my Xantia so parts are up for grabs

Unread post by mirafioriman »

Well after nearly seven years of happy ownership the old girl has come to the end of the road. I've bought an Alfa 159 1.9 diesel.

So it's a 1994 Xantia 1.9d. MOT expires later this month and it's now sorned. Its still a pretty good car but will probably need a bit of work to pass another MOT so I'm planning to break it for spares.

It has a full black leather interior front a series 2 exclusive all the electrics work including the seat heaters. Matching exclusive door panels.

Engine still runs well. Last year it had a new waterpump and the Cambelt replaced. The starter motor and alternator are pretty new too.

Stainless trim is fitted in the external door trims and the front and rear bumper trims were replaced with new genuine Citroën ones about 4 years ago.

Wheel trims were nos and fitted last year but do have a few scuffs now.

Doors wings and bonnet are all rust free.

Glass sunroof works.

Has vsx wood trim on the dash, headlamp protectors and a leather steering wheel.

If you're interested in any parts drop me a message I can email pictures and info. Would like to see her donate parts to save some other old girls going.

Sounds too good to break!

Hope the Alfa gives equally good service...

I will have the starter motor and alternator, the stainless door trim and the front and rear bumper trims. I'll also take the wheel trims, headlamp protectors and leather steering wheel. I also need the bulkhead sound deadening in the engine bay. If the tyres are 185's we may be able to swap a couple over. If it has the brown window relay inside the drivers door I'll have that as well.

There will be other stuff.

Common sense says so but I have too many things ongoing and not enough time or space in which to do them.

A Volvo V50 with knackered injectors which won't start until they're sorted, another V50 due that's had a front end smash, rattling strut top on swmbo's C4GP, a Xantia and a XM to test, work coming out of my ears and a holiday with the grandkids to fit in.

Stripping a Xantia down comes below that lot!

Would the front suspension strut tops be in any fit state to re-use, as I am desperate for at least the O/S one!?

They don't have to be fantastic but enough to get my car through the MOT!

Cheers

Strut tops. Still on the car but you're in luck they're good had a lucky find in my local scrapyard a few years back and got a set that were virtually new.

Collection of the wood trim no problem.

Forgot to mention is a very early sinker with the chevrons on the bonnet.

Radiator was new last year its not actually the right one for the car but if it's the one for your Xantia it's in excellent condition.

Also I have a brand new heater matrix for the car which I bought just in case.

Ah, such a shame as it's a sinker like mine (my favourite Xantia)

I'd be in terested in the HP pump, FDV unit, regulator and the pipes between them, the diesel filter housing and the brake calipers. What condition is the rear parcel shelf in? I'm keen to find replacement elastic chords for the ends as mine are gubbed and I've been unsuccessful in fixing them!

Does this model have the electric mirrors? If so, I'd also be keen on the switch wiring harness from inside the driver's door.

Shame, anyway if the bits are available and you're in Carlisle I can travel to you.

Yes it's white. Need to get the Alfa on the road before I get the Xantia to its final resting place and start stripping it. Please bear with me I should be able to get started next week.

First come first served is the fairest way I think so please take it that parts asked for above are sold to the respective members.
