C5 X7 Tyre pressure monitoring system procedure needed!!

Unread post by leocitroen »

Hi all,

I have a diagbox v7.58, I recently deactivated Tyre pressure monitoring system via Diagbox because I have no sensors on winter wheels. Now that I have returned the summer wheels and activated the system via Diagbox, I have alarm on the dashboard MORE THEN ONE TYRE DEFLATED (all 4).
I ask someone who knows the exact procedure to reactivate the sensors to explain me. When I follow through the Diagbox I see all four sensors correctly with the correct pressures.

Thanks

So you're saying that the dash board is still giving the message even though Diagbox shows the sensors to be present and working properly?

I wonder if the system will need to be updated, with the use of an exciter?

If these sensors have been working before that should not be neccessary. The exciter is only needed to wake sensors up that are brand new and in shipping/storage mode to preserve their batteries....

That's not true for the Mk1 C5 and possibly not for the later cars. On the Mk1 if you tell the BSI that there are no sensors fitted you need the exciter to put them back even if they're the same ones.

We still need leocitroen to tell us whether they are now working or not.

Sorry for the delay. As I said, when I look over the Diagbox, there is a correct (real time) pressure for all four wheels, but on dashboard shows an alarm and lit the SERVICE lamp.
Until I deactivated them through Diagbox, all four wheels worked nicely and showed that the pressure was OK, without any mistakes.

I thought you were saying that Diagbox is currently saying that the wheels present and correct. What is Diagbox saying for he wheels now?

Your issue will be that as you have deactivated them in Diagbox, and subsequently the BSI, you'll probably have to get them reactivated again at the dealer or another competent garage. If you had left the system as it was, you might have had the 'not monitored' warning, but would not have to go through reinitialisation again.

I had to have mine done when one of mine fell too far outside of the pressure tolerances, but the technician had to do all 4 again not just the individual one. Doesn't take long. This is why you can have 8 of these programmed to allow for winter tyres with TPMS sensors, so I assume you have replaced the wheels with a set for winter without TPMS sensors.

Thanks for answers. I thought that somebody have correct procedure for activating system.
I'm going to try a little more (play) with Diagbox . If I'm successful I'll update the topic.

Thank you

The procedure is within Diagbox, but you have to use the exciter tool with it and then follow the instructions on screen.

The procedure only displays when the system talks to the exciter tool, then tells you what to do. It won't display the procedure on its own Leo. 😀

OK, then it's definitely better to go to the Citroën authorized service. I thought it was possible to activate it only with the use of the Diagbox.

Rather than the Citroen dealer ask around the tyre fitting companies to see if any of them have the equipment for pairing TPMS valves. They have equipment that works on a multitude of car makes. It may be cheaper than Citroen that way.
