Xantia Citroen Badge

Unread post by Quackers »

The Citroen badge on the boot of my Xantia is very faded and no longer silver.

Whats the best solution? Is it paint it, if so any recommendations for the paint? or should i try and get a new badge?

If you don't have any luck getting a second hand one, they are still available from Citroen:
Part No: 96173611
£14.64 inc. VAT

By the time you've removed it, faffed about with preparing and painting, it will probably be better to have a nice shiny new one.

Thanks, surprised they are still available and not too badly priced either! are these badges easy to remove?

They are just glued on I believe - I guess the best thing would be to buy one and check there are no pins - there is not mention of any pins on the diagrams, so carefully using a plastic trim removal tool might be the answer. I'm sure the parts guys would be able to recommend the right type of glue to use for you.

They are indeed glued on with double-sides foam type stuff as used for number plates... A new one will come with the foam ready to go. Just peel off the protective paper and stick it on...

Not bad at 14 quid really, stuck with iPod at the moment so can't check but are the other badges available, like Xantia, LX etc? White is debadged and the ones on black are pretty careworn too so maybe something to look into soon.

Thanks, Black is a '95 S1, LX and White is '97 S1 & SX/Desire
It's mainly just the Citroen & Xantia tailgate badges I'd like but if the LX/SX/Desire parts are available at the parts counter too it'd be a bonus

You can click into the basket. Sometimes you need to click something else, work order or something?
