I don't think that it is a size problem. I have also found a DNS configuration error which was preventing emails from reaching admins@frenchcarforum.co.uk It should now be fixed and any queued mail (including Mike's) should be delivered within a few hours.

No, I concur that size is not the problem as some of the images I have uploaded are far larger than Mike's.
It is also evident that the forum software has shrunk them somewhat, as expected.

I'm not sure you'll get mine, the bounce notice said it gave up and classed it as "undeliverable" after reaching a max re-try queue size or somesuch, which took over 24hours!

I may well be missing the point here, but the attachments function running on phpBB / FCF won't accept photos above 1600 pixels either axis. They'll get rejected as too large and you won't get the 'place inline' option when it comes to posting them.

Actually I haven't looked at file sizes or pixels but if I take a close up picture with my phone the forum rejects it as to large whereas pictures that are not so close upload just fine. I wonder if this is the same problem?

While we're talking photos I have noticed twice that photos hosted on photo bucket have loaded up as a message that says third party linking of pictures is no longer available. I check my blogs first page now and then to see if the pictures are still there and thankfully they are. Does anyone know if they are going to disappear? I really don't fancy reuploading all of them to the correct places but I love my blog as it has a record of my motoring history all the way from Red to present and I'd like to make sure it stays as it is if possible.

This one exceeds the 1600 pixels rule though.

I'll see if I have a macro one and if not take one.

You have got the wrong end of the stick...

Pictures which are up to 1600 pixels on the long axis are uploaded and stored as-is, pictures larger than this are uploaded and scaled to 1600 pixels on the long axis before storing.

So in practice any picture taken with normal domestic equipment should be able to upload. Attachment files larger than 20MB are rejected (as probably not being single compressed images), but that limit can be increased if it is desirable.

I have done some testing with Mike's file and there seems to be some issue with the EXIF being decoded wrongly during the upload process. Investigation will continue.

IIRC this was in macro mode but is not indicated in the metadata - no digital zoom on the SLR.

Other properties as the one of the abbey.

How strange. I've been uploading pictures to the forum and the ones above 1600 pixels have been rejected (some were 4000+ pixels) - it won't let me get as far as the 'place inline' option and the 'status' icon on the right of the upload pane never goes green, if I resize them to 1600 (or under) they upload fine.

It could be that your pictures are affected by the issue that is affecting Mike's.
Can you please email one of the (original) affected files to admins@frenchcarforum.co.uk ? I will take a look at it.
