Now that's beginning to look more brake component, handbrake?

Must admit when I had the drums off, what I saw frightened me to death, so, having cheated the self-adjusters, hastilly put the drums back.

Of course I can't visualise the set-up, but that's not the sort of component that could drop out/fall off.

Sticky finger I can see the likeness between that and the mystery bolt but I feel that the bolt in question is way too big to just drop out of the brake drum plus the connecting part on the mystery bolt that has rusted off was curved as if it came from something oval shaped?

I'd be fairly confident it's not a spring from inside the drum, the shoe retainers ought to just be pins with a "T" head anyway. (and as mentioned it's way too big).

I feel like it's maybe come out of a rear door check strap mechanism or something like... or out of that box of bits...
