Steve....I'll catch up on your latest offerings, but if you go back up to this post, the playlist I enjoyed at the coffee shop include Madeline Peyroux, Pink Martini and Koop for each of which I have posted up an example up. Never come across any of them before, but interesting enough to explore further. Check them out on the Pickled Egg's 1,000th reply here

I do have a Madeleine Peyroux CD. Just missed her when she was at The Sage :(.
Heard of Pink Martini but not listened.
Koop is a new one altogether.

She is probably the least polished and glitzy performer you could find. Nevertheless she is tremendously exciting and engaging.
Generally, what you see is what you get with her. I prefer that to all the hyped up crap surrounding the more well known ones who couldn't sing to save their lives without autotune.

She can do sophisticated if she feels like it though.

Although she seems so vulnerable.

That one from the Holly Cole Trio was instantly likable for me. Another Canadian! See from the wiki page they/she did a cover of Alison by Elvis Costello....haven't found it immediately but it will be out in internetland somewhere :-D

I see my new acquaintance Madeline Peyroux has also done a version of that, bit more "tango-ey", nice :)

Klara's gone electric and Johanna picked up the bass guitar (usually keyboards or autoharp)

Well pleased to see a couple of acts that have made an appearance at the Pickled Egg will be entertaining the crowds at Glastonbury.

First Aid Kit (14:45 Fri 23 Jun 2017 Pyramid Stage)
London Grammar (20:30 Sun 25 Jun 2017 John Peel Stage)

Watched a bit of Johnny Cash from Glastonbury in 1994 on you tube slightly off on his finest low notes but still enjoyable!

Its quiet at the PE at the moment so I'll slip in a "Ring of Fire" while no one's watching

...and a bit of "Jackson" with June Carter (Cash) who also wrote "Ring of Fire"...Jackson was on radio 2 this morning a "Tracks of my years" track choice of Emily Eavis, co-organiser of the Glastonbury Festival.

I think the punters may need a "Girl form Ipanema" to lighten the mood after that one Steve!
