The New Hot Hatch KING!!!

Unread post by sbeckman7 »

Hi all,

I'm new here and just joined. I love all cars but being an American studying in England, I rarely get a chance to drive vehicles that are not brought to the states. So it was with great pleasure and anticipation that I finally drove my first ever Citroën, and wow I was not disappointed! I enjoy making YouTube videos during my spare time and seized the opportunity to hail this new hot hatch king on the big screen :-D

This has to be tongue-in-cheek . . . . worth watching, though.

No expense spared fitting it stripped out to be lightweight ........ :)

Got to say he is enthusiastic, I note he is a Yank in France so lightweight mini type cars must be a new thing to him :)

Bravo, Encore... :D I think all joking aside there is an underlying element of seriousness to this video, in that a cheap battered pov-spec hatch like that can be immense fun & liberating to drive. Specially either in town where parking dings don't warrant a tantrum over the scratched paint & down country lanes where the same can be said for scratches from twigs/bushes/random angry farmers. Plus if you do plant it in a ravine it's not going to break the bank to replace. A bit like a certain Kia, Sticky?

(been meaning to ask about that actually since I noticed it's "status" had changed. Hope everyone was ok & only pride and a doggy Korean dog eater were hurt?)

The lingering question is . . . . . one for Neil . . . . . Should Saxo be taken with a pinch of salt? 8-[

Or myself, a Middlewich lad... It's SAXA actually, and PAXO stuffing mix lol :rofl2: Speaking of which, did the OP get these two confused with his musical reference near the beginning of the vid too? (RIP Saxa, 3/5/17)

sbeckman7, WELCOME ....I trust no offence on the "Yank in France" bit.......I am glad you are enjoying our little pov spec cars, you are finding out why we love these "little things" :)

If I can offer some advice, try if you can to drive a BX Gti, an AX-gt and a Xantia Activa :)

Again, welcome

Yes, dead right, Saxa it was. Paxo is the guy on Univ Challenge. Daft mistake.

Seriously, though, I did enjoy sb's video - and a good recommendation for him to get behind the wheel of some of those other hot French machines too.

Thank you all :rofl2:

No offense taken, and none given with the review. It was as you say - beautifully refreshing to go flat out in a vehicle under normal driving conditions, driving something with nothing more than 3 pedals and a steering wheel, and to never worry about dents or scratches from daily use!

P.S. will happily drive the cars recommended if I can get my hands on some :-D
