Quite an achievement, getting an LN, LNA & Visa in the same place at the same time - well done!

I've been doing this show since WAS in Bristol. It was a daytrip then, now I have options: drive C15 down to the show on Saturday, & continue on to Torbay after, drive down to Torbay Friday evening & stop off at the show on my way back to London on Sunday or, least favourite, train Friday & Sunday evenings & come up on the Saturday, & return afterwards, this year in the (red) Cherokee. There are costs implications but a little light socialising at a local hostelry might just swing it.

OK, so done the maths - & another 500 mile round trip in the C15 it is BUT with a twist, drive down Friday night & come up to Shepton, via Princetown, on Saturday, returning to "the Riviera" that night. (should still cost less in fuel than just the return train ticket to Torbay :) )

I know, I almost fell off my chair when I asked someone if they'd like to show their Visa and they said "I can do better than that, how about an LN or LNA?".
It would be good to put a face to the name and you would be more than welcome to join us for a bite to eat on Saturday evening.

I've got another sweetener for you courtesy of the marketing team behind the Bristol Classic Car Show if you don't want to commit to an advance ticket.
Anyone can print this off, fill it in and bring it along on the day.

Even at this short notice, shouldn't be too difficult - but maybe not that close to the showground.

Finally managed to get my ticket this morning - at the second attempt!

Why it has to be such hard work, I really don't know. Must've spent an hour, spread over 3 days, using 2 computers AND 2 browsers!

Jim, I'm used to GWR, so it's no big deal BUT, it does make me wonder why internet shopping is so popular; I find it, all too often to be slow, frustrating, stressful & irritating beyond belief.

In fairness, I was, unusually, able to reply to the e-mail sending my e-ticket, so took the opportunity to point out the woeful shortcomings of the the site AND, ironically, their satisfaction questionaire - which I couln't submit because questions I'd answered required answers. Nope, you couldn't make it up!

Working in IT I've seen it all Van   The farcical becomes routine and no longer remarkable...

That lot of shortcomings, whilst intolerable, do not surprise me in the least... Sadly :(

The Bristol Car Show is over for another year, it was a really good event. Lots of interest in the cars, spoke to many people who used to own AXs, LNAs and Visas, all really pleased to see them.

Lots of 8 bit computer chat which stemmed from the Amstrad CPC464 on show!

Ill upload some photos tomorrow.

It was great to meet you van and glad you could come to the pub meal, see you at an event soon.

At least I was given a chance to respond, as so often e-tickets & the like come as attachments to "do not reply" e-mails AND I got a reply to say my observations would be added to the feedback. Pinch of salt? More like a cupful - BUT no more than if I had been able to submit the questionaire & an acknowledgment tols ne it made a difference. Natural born cynic - Moi?

All worh it in the end though, even if I am inclined to agree with a trader I've got to know, that the event is dying on its feet :( , because met up with the 3 kindred souls on the CCC stand, deliberately, quite late in the day & after the fiasco of getting the C15 out of the, by then, locked public car park #-o we adjourned to a local hostelry for some excellent pub grub, a drink & more chat. First time in all the years I've been going that it's turned into a social event, & a pleasurable one at that! :)
I had, pretty well decided I wouldn't be going again (well, at least, not without checking what other major events were on the same w/e) but by the end of the evening the only thing that would stop me (external factors excepted) was if CCC SW weren't going to be there; unlikely 'cos they're a fixture - it's just I've never managed to connect before.

Thanks for everything guys, looking forward to next year (or November?) unless I'm able to gatecrash one of your meeting. :-D
