Right out of the top drawer with that one Lexi, never heard it before, excellent!
Said James, "In my opinion, there's nothing in this world
Beats a '52 Vincent and a Redheaded girl.
Now Triumphs, and Nortons and Beezers won't do.
Oh, they don't have a Soul like a Vincent '52."

A few to be getting on with:

One wonders if the video would have got one and a quarter million views if she was wearing a boiler suit and welders mask ? :-D

Or if you want something different to sing-a-long to, there's always Metallica's Orion

And a couple for Land Rover fans

UB40 with I Am A One In Ten (110) :-D

And a bit of a blast from the past - Scarlet Party with 101 Damnations

Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

The Ford Orion.....never thought of that one.

I bought a UB40 casette "Present Arms" specifically to play loudly in my Triumph GT6 back in the early 80's. Not exactly the Boom,Boom,Boom you could imagine emerging from souped-up Corsa's and Saxo's, bit more subtle and sophisticated that that in my own deluded mind!

One in Ten was track one side 2, happy to have that one on the list.

Nice pics from Nat Geographic to accompany Metallica, the start reminded me of the "Eclipse " Burger which the Landlord shifted a few of at the time of the last total eclispe.

Anyone got any interesting musical suggestions for tonight?

"P"s too easy

I'll clear that Prince has an immense catalogue so would be the obvious choice. But I'll give the Pickled Egg punters a gentle classic they'll be familiar with...

and the car..very flimsy link to a one-off American effort in the 60's

AS for the "Q"'s no entries on Classiccarcatalogue to help so we are left with
The Nissan Qashqai, and the NSU Quickly (yes a moped could be classified as off-topic!)
...tricky, some creativity may be required!

Well the Q's gave me the choice of a German rapper called EKO-Fresh and his song Lady which is the only song in the entire history of the world to use "Nissan Qashqai" in the lyrics......

or the Pet Shop Boys and a link with the Quickly!

The PSB's definitely have it.....I like that

Autoplay it on to West-End Girls and there's a Maestro driving around the "West-end" in the video.

Sorry, I have been slacking and have nothing to contribute - not on topic at least.

I must confess, I have been listening to Cher most of the evening.
An LP I bought in the dim and distant past when I was about 18 and she would have been 20.
Preferred her on her own - this was before she went over the top.
Crap music but she had a good voice.
This one I already had by Noel Harrison but like this and most of the LP (not all though)

This was written by Charles Aznavour, whom I fairly recently discovered was not French but Armenian.
And oddly, Cher's father was Armenian too - only just found that out.

Unfortunately, she drops the last word.

No problem Steve its a free-for all! and anything goes!

The "R" s should be easy enough to manufacture some link into!
Radwan,Railton,Raleigh,Rally,Rambler,Ramses,Rapid,Rapier,Reliant,Remi Danvignes,
Renault,René Bonnet,Reo,Reyonnah,RGS Atalanta,Rhode,Riley,Roamer,Rocchetto,Rochdale
Rochet Schneider,Rockne,Röhr,Rockefeller Yankee,Rockne,Rolland Pillain,Rollfix,Rolux
Rolls Royce,Rollsmobile,Rolux,Rometsh,Rooswelt,Rosengart,Rosmovil,Rover,Rovin,Ruska
Russon,R.Y.C.S.A.,Rytecraft-Scootacar
I mean there's good old Frankie for a start, but lets not go for the obvious....this is Rod McKuen who wrote the song. Frank's version is the ultimate for me but worth recalling Rod's contribution...

..and a bonus off-topic-er from Rod, another one of his that won many awards. He's probably in the same category of vocalist like Leonard Cohen, (ie not the best singer :) ) but adds something knowing the songs are his. Plenty of links on the wiki page about him.

About the same vintage as Cher, I have a Rod McKuen LP, "The Sea" with clear similarities to the above.
It isn't him 'singing' and he would never reveal who it was.

I have a friend who knew him in Amsterdam where they both lived for a while, said he was completely insufferable in person.
