C5II front hydraulic strut bump stop dimension

Post by AlvinCitroenC5 »

Hi,

Can someone let me know the dimension of the front bump stops? Ex: length, inner and outer diameter?

I have noticed that both my bump stop that is mounted on the front hydraulic strut on my 2005 C5 II have turned to disintegrated.

Purchasing the originals here in mainland China cost a lot more, and most junk yard does not have ones that are in good shape. So, I am trying to purchase a cheaper alternative.

Thank you.

I think you'll find these are model-dependent. Dimensions are not listed in the service pages unfortunately.
Item 4 is the Rebound Stop and is Part No: 5033 66.

They only cost about £5-10 in the UK, but shipping costs vary - although the Royal Mail does ship letters and small parcels for about £10 international tracked / signed:

Edit: According to another site, these are the dimensions:

Fitting Position: Front Axle left and right
Outer Diameter [mm]:53, 57
Thickness [mm]:115
Inner Diameter [mm]:30
Weight [kg]:0,08

Is it possible to do a reverse search on 5033 66 to see if it is fitted to anything else?

The Xantia, XM, C3, C4 and C5 X7 as examples all have different parts, but the C5 MKI and MKII are the same part number. I could go on, but can't find a universal part number off hand, Paul.

Yes. Just enter the part number in the Search box, and click on 'Run the search on All Vehicle Families' to see all the vehicles the part was fitted to.
A very useful feature!

Because of import tax, the new bump stop will cost 20GBP not including shipping each at many French car parts importers in mainland China. Give you an example, the timing belt and pulleys for the 3.0V6 cost me 250 GBP, and at the dealer would cost 600 GBP, not including labour. So, I do like this car quite a bit to purchase a second hand unit here and to replace so many parts to get it in good shape. :?

That only works within a car model Chris. You still have to select a base Model to search on. If I'm looking at a C4, and put the above 5033 66 part in nothing will come up and neither will it when selecting across all families. Same if I'm in the C5 X7 section with no filters, this part won't come up at all. I've tried both on my system and my Citroen Service A/C.

But once you have clicked search you can select "run on all vehicle families" in the results bit...

Yes, I know that :) and no results are returned - as I said. You can't get to the search without selecting a model first. Then searching on this part will not bring it up on any category except when searching within a C5 MKI or MKII as the base vehicle regardless if running it again against all families. If I repeat with the C3 (Pic 1) or a X7 (Pic 2) selected and no filters all families - nothing. Using the C5 MKI as the base vehicle it will now show up against all the relevant C5 MKI models for each engine (Pic 3). From what you are saying, then this part should of showed up on either of these searches regardless of the base model, which is clearly doesn't. I can see I'm going to have to put some screenshots up to convince people

No Part All Families, no filter C3
No Part All Families, no filter C3
No Part All Families, no filter C3
No Part All Families, no filter X7
No Part All Families, no filter X7
No Part All Families, no filter X7
Mark I C5 Part is shown
Part Shown All Families, no filter C5 MKI
Part Shown All Families, no filter C5 MKI

I have used the "other vehicle families" dozens of times.
Yes, you have to go in on a model to find the part number (or, having done that, simply enter it in the Search box if you already know it).
After that, just hit "run on all vehicle families", and if the part was fitted to others, they will be listed.
Have used it twice today!

Can you post some screenshots Chris? Maybe we can see where the difference is. Using 5033 66 as an example might help the OP.

It works, even on that part number, entered as either 5033 66, or 503366.
- Select any vehicle, and select an engine
- enter the part number in Search: results or none (0) will then appear
- for either results or none (0), hit Run on All Vehicle Families
- the other vehicles will appear

Tried this on both your C4 and C5 X7 examples, using 5033 66.
Both worked.

So what other vehicles/models is the bump stop fitted to?
