Not sure how much of a "score" as opposed to incidental and background bits of Jazz, but John Dankworth supplied the musical accompaniment to this 1960's gritty drama

Time for some Neil Young methinks.
I rarely listen to male musicians but Neil Young is one of the few exceptions.

He is so prolific it is very hard to select less than an hundred. However:

This always takes so long as I have to listen to each song all the way through, can't cut it off.

Now this again has little to do with Saturday, its one of the nice tranquil pieces posted up by Steve and the lakes and waterfalls of Croatia (Plitvice) are an absolutely stunning backdrop to the music. There are several versions on youtube and if you do nothing it goes from one version to the next and its a tune you don't mind being repeated, chill out time now!

and my other chill-out favourite from Steve's postings

Re: P.E. Jukebox-Sunday Sunday!

We are off again...another "Sunday" song not selecting the obvious artist.

The James last version of this is just too slow for me, so here's the Tremelos apologies to those who aren't familiar with their work and think WTH were they!

Come on FCF.......Sunday Night Nostalgia......we always used to have a "Howards Way" supper with the lovely wooden acting. Great opening credits,

and a jazzed up variation on a theme for the climactic dramatic ending!

Never ever saw that.
But thought of the music to the Forsyte Saga - also never seen and it wasn't what I thought I was thinking of.

It was actually Khatchaturian's music used for The Onedin Line, which I also haven't watched.

But thinking of Khatchaturian reminded me of the Gayaneh ballet suite and the Adagio used in 2001.

Listening to some live Samantha Fish stuff from her Blues Caravan days, there was some "Kashmir" interwoven, that reminded me that it is some time since I listened to Lucia Micareli.

If the intro is too long then jump to the 3' 0" mark.

Vanessa-Mae is incredible but more restrained where Lucia throws herself into things wholeheartedly.

My favorite of that bunch Steve, Emmanuel soulful slow jazz. Very reminiscent of the feel of this by Francis Lai

Couldn't trace who wrote "Emmanuel" as yet

I forget the name of the composer but it was written for his dying five year old son.

Whoever it was he was French.
