C4 1.6hdi seems sluggish

Just bought 1.6 hid c4 but seems sluggish I'm new to citroens any ideas please

Welcome along to the forum. Not sure how we can help you from the information given.
Is the car up to date with its servicing, have you had it plugged into a diagnostic machine ?
The 1.6 hdi is not generally sluggish, turbo failure , turbo electrovalve, vacuum issues , sticking egr valve will all cause a lack of performance on this engine.

What year is it? There are different iterations of 1.6 with 16 and 8 valve heads.

What power is the engine supposed to be kicking out?

Hi all the car is 2006 and has just been serviced by myself full oil and filters service as I don't think it had been done for a while especially judging by the state of the air filter, it is supposed to be 110bhp and as I have only just acquired the car I've not had chance to get it on a diagnostic machine as yet, I do all my own spanner work so I was just looking for some pointers as I am new to the hdi range of engines
