The advantage of drinking Barrs products is they stop you needing a leak on a long journey....

:rofl2: I read that with a mouthful of tea!!! My poor keyboard!!!

I howled at that...

I shall be using the 207 for work this week as part of its shake-down and see if the problem is resolved but I don't trust the car at all and won't until I've done at least 10K in it...b Robyn reckons it’ll take me years to do that!!!

I'm also deeply in training for Swimathon on Sunday and the MK Half Marathon so swimming and running training is currently taking precedence over cycling training...

The Pug of Love is still running without fault - except one. Its appetite for petrol is epic...

I'd never have believed a little 1360cc TU engine could drink so much...
There's nothing wrong as the engine runs as sweet as a nut and MOT emissions were near zero...

The fuel gauge is now reading three-quarters full after brimming the tank 50 miles ago...

Ahh well, it's how it is I guess. A revvy little engine designed for the AX driving a relatively large and heavy car...

The two 1.4 pug 206 that i owned werent particularly easy on fuel, espically the 16v one from 2006.

This one's a 16V example Davie... Robyn never found it particularly frugal either, even on long, steady journeys...

Training is going well. 5Km run this morning followed by a 2.4Km swim and a 14 mile bike ride :D

I'm well ready for Swimathon... In fact I’m well trained up now for a triathlon!

Hoping to get some kayaking in this evening.. First time out on the lake in 2017 :)

If I remember correctly i think it rarely bettered 40mpg on the trip computer. And when we went to Carluke to my sisters, 220 mile journey it was worse. The c5 2.2 hdi used less fuel, and they werent known for economy!

Remember my 1.6 306 being pretty poor on fuel as well, rarely nudging anything north of 35mpg. Always felt on the open road like it could use an extra gear to be honest.
Current fleet:
06 Peugeot Partner Escapade 1.6HDi, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.

Average this week - around town..

Image

Average since we bought it..

Image

I think it's the TU based motor, it's a 1.4 16v anyway..

Image

Figures are accurate when checked the traditional way.

I am available for economical driving lessons if needed.

That's the same ET3 engine as mine Mickey.... I wonder why mine is so bloody thirsty?

Enjoyed a different form of transport last evening.... Very enjoyable too and great to be back out on the lake after the winter break...

Weather was sensational!

Muscles now ache that I forgot I ever had

 Just to make you even more tired Peter, I swam 1Km this morning and I'll be biking and running later - only little ones as today I'm having a relaxing rest day - by my standards anyway!

I like the way you relax! I'm afraid my joints aren't up to cycling any more. I got stuck on a pedalo in the middle of a lake in France because my knees seized up. Iv'e cut a couple of trees down this week though. :)

I discovered by accident my Pug of Love does have an MPG computer :D

I accidentally pressed the button on the end of the wiper stalk trying to change from CD to Wireless on the other stalk. I got the wrong stalk and made a happy discovery!

It'll be interesting now to monitor it. This picture was taken a couple of miles after filling up with petrol and a trip to Waitrose... 37 mpg around MK seems quite good....

I must say this little Pug is starting to find a place in my heart... I'm getting rather attached to it and enjoy hustling it around the racetrack that is Milton Keynes. It's seriously good fun and the little ET3 engine is such a satisfyingly revvy little thing :D A worthy successor to the equally revvy and fun TU series engines :D
