Reminder : Haynes Motorm Museum THIS SUNDAY 2ndApril

Post by Stickyfinger »

A popular and free event for every type of car enthusiast, don’t be surprised to see a first generation Honda Insight parked next to a Renault 5 all sandwiched between an old DS and a new DS! Best to get there early as the event starts to wind down from around 10:30ish.
Hot and cold drinks, breakfast baps (£4 at time of print) and full English (£8 at time of print) are available at the museum café.
Afterwards we’ll drive over to the Mattia Diner on the 303 for a milkshake and a nibble (usually we go straight to dessert but sometimes we go for a main instead. It all depends on what we fancy at the time).
Finally if you’d like to walk off the food and you’ve not been, a trip around Haynes International Motor Museum is a must. With their famous ‘Red Room’, mock up workshop and Ghostbusters car! The ticket is one of those that lasts for a year if you gift aid (£14.50 at time of print).

Best to arrive about 8am.....or you are parking on the demo track (not a bad thing)

I really want to go to that but yet again I'm going to miss it.
One day I will get to the breakfast club.

Tempted. Roughly how long a trip is it from here Jim?

Is my birthday on the 2nd, so maybe a good event for the day, and a chance to get the Lada into its first event of the year - and actually in my ownership as I picked it up after most things had finished for the year last year...

About three and a half hours at the speed I drive Zel ;)

Your Lada would be incredibly welcome there, as, naturally, would you...

Be magical to see you there and properly celebrate your birthday over breakfast :)

Zel, I'd say we could car share but given the destination and function we're attending that would completely defat the object

I'll need to have a think about it, and probably chat with the rest of the family.

That would be a heck of an early start by my standards given my sleep issues (think out of the last four days I'd be leaving before I've actually managed to get to sleep!), and I don't know if anyone actually has any plans for a birthday event of any sort.

If it doesn't conflict with any other plans folks have put together and I'm feeling up to it, tending to lean towards coming along though. Especially if my other half is interested as well.

If we do both end up going, totally have to make sure that at least some of the journey is done in convoy!

Wonder what is says about me that when I looked at the photo in the first post here, the first car that I homed in on and went "Oooohh.." was the Peugeot...

I woke up at 04:30 today, my bodies got used to it after having to do it only once.
I hope this isn't now the norm, sunrise is the perfect time to get up for me.

In nature we should arise with the sunrise and retire at sunset James.. Sadly, few do at great detriment to health...

I have an issue where my body clock is rigidly fixed to wake me at 03:50 and put me to bed at 19:30. I have no choice despite trying to change it. I accept it now and live with it and have adjusted my life around it.

One thing I do is use a 'Lumie' bodyclock to simulate sunrise and sunset around my waking and retiring times...

I recommend them very highly... They work brilliantly for me and although priceym, are worth every penny... They are allegedly also good for treating SAD...
