ZX driveshaft

On the way to work, I was going round a roundabout when there was a knocking noise from the front nearside. Turning the steering hard left stopped the noise and I continued to work, but when I turned right again the knocking came back. Is this probably a knackered driveshaft/CV joint? The odd thing is that the noise is only there when going in a straight line, not on full right or left hand lock.
