No problems - I'd suggest only upgrading as far as 7.58, but no later than 7.65 for reasons already mentioned earlier in the thread

I don't suppose that you managed to talk a discount (free delivery) out of them did you?

Lucianman, and the price difference wasn't much either to the one on eBay.

Don't forget to register yourself on the easy diagnostics website, where you'll have access to their software should you need it.

you will only need to load up disk one and possibly its update to version 7.57 disk two to version 8.17 seems to have a few problems
in that it needs to be registered and the information on the second disk doesn't tally up with what the program asks you for.

8.57 on disk two will also require subscription to the PSA online website according to easy diagnostics.

Ive only had mine a week or so and it works lovely at version 7.57 on my MK2 Citroen C5 2007 exclusive HDi.

of to have a play at Pleiades tomorrow lunchtime with different vehicles and see if I can convince Martin to buy one from easy diagnostics for his
C-crosser and for working on other motors.

I'll keep that in mind. One more thing please. Windows 7 ultimate 32x is the only thing I need for the software installation, because I've upgraded my system specially for the tool?

No discount at all. Didn't even crossed my mind to ask for one. I paid £118 and nothing for the delivery

Yes that is fine, just follow the installation for version 7 and ignore V8. I highly recommend you get your system patched with windows updates first, then take a system restore point and name it something like 'Pre Diagbox Install'. This will allow you to restore the Windows Registry to a pre installation state if you have to later uninstall and reinstall Diagbox in the future. The Diagbox programme is not the most 'tidiest' of installations and creates files all over the place.

ok, so I spent the afternoon at Pleiades in Sawtry yesterday playing with my new lexia
and I had access to a 56 plate C2 and Martins 2009 C-crosser.
Running version 7.57 on the laptop for the lexia it first refused to talk to the ecu of Martins C-crosser
and we just couldn't find an RPC number so having failed there I moved to the C1 which was overheating badly.

again the lexia seemed to be operating by the clicking sounds it was making but it failed to recognise the ecu
but managed to talk to the BSI. so we got a global test finally after version 7.57 crashed and locked up 3 times.
it showed an injection fault something the lexia picked up on my C5 in fact the exact same fault, was this a coincidence or a glitch?

The overheating diagnosis pointed to incoherent sensor readings, neither here or there.
as it turned out the radiator was cold all the time so airlock was suspected and the air filter was removed to give access
to the nears side TU engine block to undo the air bleed screw and no water came out so we released the expansion
tank cap and low and behold water poured from the head bleed screw.

the radiator now warms up and the airlock has gone.

the lexia was useless to diagnose an over heating engine.

I'm not to happy with version 7.57 it likes to crash and lock you out completely.
so I feel a fresh install of version 7.01 coming soon. I still haven't managed to find the DPF
readings which is what I really wanted to monitor on my C5.

regards.

Yep I agree on that one defrag your hard disk after installing diagbox it really messes up the hard disk.
the installation is around 120 gig of files, for most people that's more than half of their hard disk capacity.

Actually if your doing a fresh install of windows a defrag and restart before and after the software install is probably
a good thing to do, it will certainly speed up the file opening process.

Hi guys, first time poster here.
You seem to be the right people to ask about Lexia/DiagBox, so here goes.
Sorry for the sometimes strange English, it's not my first language, but I'm trying... :?

Information about the car in question:
2007 C5 2.0 HDi
VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
RPO: 10917CJ

And the interface (read with PSA Interface Checker V3 by Scarymistake):
Version: APPLI_XS_Fuji_P106138A V4.3.2 @ACTIA 03.01.14
Reference Serial: 921815 C/

I've tried Global diagnosis in DiagBox 7.02, 7.57, and 7.58. And the result have always been the same:

Code: Select all

System Dialouge	Fault
-----------------------------------------
Injection YES ?
Suspension YES YES
Gearbox ECU YES ?
Additional Heating YES NO

Every other system NO ---
I'm under the impression that C5 R (mk2, facelift, what shall I call it?) are kind of hard to communicate with, is that common knowledge?

Thanks in advance for any advise or help :-D

Regards,
Björn

Hi Bjorn and welcome to the Forum.
Your issue may be related to the Hardware of the Actia Clone (or lack of it to be more precise). Some of the clones are not full chip kits and have issues working with full CAN vehicles like the C5. Short of opening up your hardware (be careful not to void the warranty if it is new) may be the only way to tell if it has all the chips. There are some photos a few pages previous that you may not have seen:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=46686&start=960#p520097
If you have only just bought it, then I would return it straight away and then purchase one from a reputable supplier. Easydiagnostics are used by a lot of members here and they ship to Europe:

Incidentally, what version of Windows are you using on your laptop and is it 32 or 64 bit?

Hi Marc, and thanks for a really fast reply :)
I hadn't seen that picture before, I had only read about 40 pages in this thread before posting. Sorry about that :(
My interface does indeed miss optocouplers U4-U9. Every other location seems to be populated, so I might try to populate U4-U9 to see if that makes any difference. U10 is populated with a 500 321 (can it be one of these? http://www.mouser.se/Semiconductors/Int ... 21&FS=True). Any chance it might work if I put six of these in location U4-U9?

Or is it time to bite the bullet and order a new interface? :/ :(

I really couldn't say for sure Bjorn - there was also usually a 10k resistor and some other chips missing from the other PCB (that I didn't show in that post) on the inferior units. I only posted that single picture in response as it was enough to tell me that it was not a full kit. Personally, I would bite the bullet and get a full chip kit that will be an investment for now and the future of you are planning on having PSA cars :) It also shows that some of the units can report back as being a Revision 'C' unit when in fact they are substandard.

Hi, guys
Any idea if it's possible to see some of the wiring diagrams? There's a special category on the software but I need to log in to some account to see it. Any of you managed to get it or its only for the dealers?

Thanks for the reply. I got mine working and updated to V7.57 on the first time and after put it on the car I can say I'm happy with it. The files aren't that big. On my C:/ I only got 25GB free space before the lexia installation. And there's still some space left now. (English not my first language)

Dealers olny Lucian - normally these are connected to PSA servers, so full diagnostic trees and SEDRE wiring diagrams will link direct from Diagbox. Not with our versions without a dealer account.

I may be able to help with a wiring diagram if you let me know what it is specifically you need to see, what system and the VIN
