C5 1 daytime running lights
When having a look in my BSI it has an option for daytime running lights? how are they fitted to my 2002 C5?

Re: C5 1 daytime running lights
There isn't a separate DRL light on pre-2008 C5s. You have to remember that the BSI has settings in there not specific to your C5, as they are installed on several vehicles and therefore has options not always relevant. You need to be careful about what you change in there.
It is a likely however, that the 'DRL' setting might be the option used to activate the main headlamps during the day in countries that require headlamps to be on all the time (Scandinavian countries for example.) They are compulsory in the UK from 2011 (hence why DRLs are now mandatory on all new cars to comply with the legislation). At the time your car was made, it was a legal requirement in some countries, so this option was likely used to turn them on with the engine regardless of lighting conditions.
In the UK on the C5 MK III, there are dedicated DRLs, but these were not enabled by default, as the UK law didn't require them to be used, so for some reason they didn't bother. Many of us with X7s have activated the function though - although on the X7, there are several settings that need to be set - such as whether the DRLs work in conjunction with the sidelights for example.

Correct, if you enable DRL on the mk 1 it just puts the dipped headlamps on as soon as the engine is started.
