I am having problems removing your A ( the box with the flap. The YouTube suggests there are just four pull out clips but the box won't budge for me and I fear breaking it.
I actually need to replace the bulb and repair wiring in the cigarette lighter.
I have been able to lift the horizontal trim around the gear-lever electric handbrake etc. I.e. the big horizontal trim panel, which contains the cigarette lighter but cannot remove it completely as the front clip of this panel fouls with the box A on your photo. (Whilst I can see the bulb by removing the ash-tray insert I cannot get the bulb out so need to remove the whole cigarette lighter which means getting this big trim panel out.

Have you seen my last post now with all the diagrams on how to remove this? The cigarette lighter is in the lower unit 'B' not 'A'. But to get to this you need to follow my guide in order to remove 'A' to get to / see the clips when the radio unit and climate unit is out.

Looks like I'll have to try to find my old radio keys then [or buy some more as I've not seen them for ages thank goodness for Ebay eh! ]

which suggested it was a quick job and without having to remove the head unit. I got the panel up but it stuck at the front clip due to the box surround.

The bulb looks like the standard w5w but I don't think it has ever worked since I got the car. (if so, definitely one for LED as it is so difficult to access.

No problem, good luck with installing it - just be careful with the plastic trim clips, they can be very fragile.
