Citroën C4 door lock problem

Unread post by Botswana3456 »

Hi, I'll update my introduction later, but need help now, please. I've got my C4 door lock barrel out, but can't see how to remove the cylinder from the barrel. Lock won't turn clockwise (can't lock, only unlock), so I have to replace or remove a leaf. PLEASE HELP. Quinton

I need to slide the cylinder out so I can crimp a leaf to compensate for wear & tear on a notch. Just can't see any way to remove it. Thanx for the help

Appears to come as one piece from Citroen, so there will be no instructions as to how to disassemble it. Not anything I've heard of, but in the UK, you'd just get a new one, but that's not likely to be an option where you are. Might be a circlip somewhere holding it together.

I tried to do a similar thing with the driver's door key barrel on my wife's old Xsara as the key wouldn't work. The assembly is held together with a pin that is driven into the body of the key barrel. It would have been necessary to drill this pin out which was really not practicable and in the end I swapped the passenger door barrel over!
