Intermittent fan on C5 mk 1

Unread post by hirsty »

Most of the time my heater fan works normally but recently has started cutting out occasionally. The fan speed indicator shows blank and the econ light goes out. Changing the fan speed or switching to auto has no effect. This happens for about one/two minutes, then all returns to normal. Any suggestions on the cause? Could this be the module overheating and coming back on when cooled ? Thanks in advance.

Very possibly - there's been a lot of these lately on the forum - just have a search on 'blower motor' or similar...

Check the fuse for the fan, for dirty contacts or overheating damage. Fan fuses work quite hard, and PSA fuseholders are not the best.

Most recent here was only last week.
