They're some beautiful views Alasdair! Looks colder down your way than up here....
But then they did always call your neck of the woods Siberia... For good reason maybe?

I don't care on mornings like this Jim, better than the best coffee for raising the heart ready for the day. I honestly feel I live with some of the best views in Somerset.

We had a hard frost here, the cars are still white. That Wolverhampton supermarket is just a few miles from us. We've never been in but it's been there 20-30 years I think. Just at the top of the A41 on the ring road near the tram station.[emoji3]

Having stood on the spot where you took those pictures Alasdair, and seeing it at all seasons too, I quite agree... Simply stunning!Stickyfinger wrote:I honestly feel I live with some of the best views in Somerset.

I have just asked for a song to be added to the Jukebox (because of the way it makes me feel). Some views (such as the two Alasdair posted) make me feel the same way.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
My memories of Somerset are a little less welcome, doing night guards at Norton Manor camp armed only with a pick axe handle when the IRA were really getting going, hitch hiking to Blue Anchor and back on a free Sunday, on the way back we were picked up by the camp CO in his Sunbeam Talbot 90, sweating on whether we were going to get pulled over the coals for hitching.
An Army exhibition in Vivary Park where we had a stand and the REME team did their strip and rebuild a Jeep in no time show. Also had a diesel injector and test stand set up to work like a flame thrower.
On a later occasion with my wife we called in at Butlin's Minehead and I nearly drowned in their swimming pool, it was so damned cold I couldn't get my breath.
We had a guy from Frome in our unit, Craftsman Perret, I don't know where he went after Taunton we all went off in different directions.

Why did you hitch there and not take the train?

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Just wondering why we were in Wolverhampton, but remember the Sainsbury's in the old church well. Then it dawned on me, it was one of my trademark detours just because we were passing within 30 miles or so on a trip back from Cardiff. At the time I was interested in bio-diesel/veg oil conversions and a firm in Wolverhampton called DieselVeg were active in the field at the time so paid them a visit.demag wrote:That Wolverhampton supermarket is just a few miles from us. I notice now that they have put up this notice on their website
Regards Neilhttp://www.dieselveg.com/
Important Notice
As of 31st July 2013 DieselVeg Ltd ceased trading. Large overheads coupled with the increased complexity of modern diesel engines means that we can no longer survive.
