I find this a difficult read due to me not understanding the principles mentioned. But its morphed onto LED which i never even considered. I've seen coloured R286 bulbs which i liked the look of. If everyone is saying 'don't do it' i can live with that [emoji6]

? Change colour by using new coloured bulbs = No

? Change some colours by scratching off the green and applying localised colour changes (EG large numbers) = Yes

This pre-dated the black panel! We're talking this generation of 900!

The Pug 208 that my father had was fitted with a similar feature if you turned down the dash illumination all the way, it shut off everything save for the speedo and (I think) the fuel gauge.

Where's this 'green' that everyone mentions? My dash LOOKS clear to me.

Just thinking about it, the plastic can't be a solid colour as I was thinking as that wouldn't work for the Km/h markings on the speedo - I must be thinking of another visually similar dash to the Xantia one that I've had in bits at some point...

The lamps for the Xantia's dash are definitely clear though as standard, so I imagine the green must be a layer of silk-screen behind the white of the digits on the dial faces. I don't have a spare panel in front of me right now, or I'd go find out for certain exactly what is coloured where.
