YES, exactly. It's a result of my frugalness.
Put it this way, a replacement ignition barrel would cost a hundred odd quid. (old one finally died from having to switch the heavy current fan loads if I remember rightly).
I looked at the ignition switch wiring and realised I could just replace it with three toggle switches and a push buttonhahah :p
