Replacing Xantia Instrument Illumination Bulbs

Unread post by CitroJim »

I've just done a guide to doing this job...

https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 22&t=56530

Comments and ideas to improve the guide are very welcome indeed :D

Do it and enjoy a beautifully illuminated Xantia dash again!!!

Yes, but with notes on the essential differences on how to do the job in an S1 - which, to be fair, is very similar ;)

That is very annoying Alasdair  From where did you obtain the replacements?

I've edited my guide slightly to make clear the procedure as described and the pictures applies to an S2 ;)

Yep.....grrrrr (from ebay)

I have still not taken off the steering wheel.....I used the "bend the hell out of it" on the wheel cover

I HATE touching Airbags and that nasty little slip connector

That's one way to do it but not a good way... There's a risk of breaking the cowl and chopping lumps out of your fingers...

Nothing to worry about with airbags.... Just treat them like a basket of eggs ;)

You want me to do the job for you next time I'm down your way?

'Ring' brand bulbs seem OK... That as the brand I got from my last bulk buy on the 'bay...

Chilli flapjacks sound gorgeous Alasdair and I'll be looking forward to those :D I'll pass on the chicken though - the only chicken I eat is in the form of eggs ;)

I generally don't eat meat although I do eat a little fish...

If I were going phishing I would not have used a minnow, but a salmon. Far more tempting.
