@ James

Is it possible to cut glass with the water jet ??

I am thinking .........cut the front section out of the OEM glass and bond in a piece of flat glass (tempered) cut perfectly with a water jet as well..... into the "frame" ?

There are really good adhesives now for glass/glass bonding which are very stiff so the remaining glass frame should be OK.

The joint would be outside the beam so no scatter

Rather delighted about that...

I don't know but I imagine it would work. I'll ask the operator this morning and let you know.

It is possible but very unlikely to be successful. I'll explain later, just on a tea break now.

NP.....best bet would always be a complete unit anyway....I presume it is due to the "tempered" aspect & internal stress in the glass ?

Back to the blow down mould ..

It can be done but our place has only had a quick go with flat glass and was mostly unsuccessful. The flow jet guy said it only ever worked when he cut in from an edge. In theory he should be able to pierce it and take out a shape but he just couldn't find the settings. Sounded like we'd need to destroy 20 to 30 test lenses to work out how to do it.

Another headlamp option: just "roughed up" to see what it looks like
