What I meant was, do you have the Diagbox application or the standalone Lexia that you launch from you laptop James, if it's Diagbox, that's fine

That should be fine, I've just checked the Diagbox change logs Input together on the Wiki and your version should be ok to do the DRLs.

James, here are the main points for configuring the DRLs on an X7:

Florrynel / James:- First of all, I would confirm that they are not already activated. You can do this part without a diagnostic:
  • With car stationary - press down left hand scroll wheel on steering wheel to access Main Menu
  • Using the scroll wheel, select 'Vehicle Parameters'
  • Then select 'Lighting and Signalling'.
  • From there the Menu Item (if already activated via Diagbox / Lexia) will show Daytime Running Lamps - Press the scroll wheel down to place a tick in the selection box.
If this option is there, then they are already activated, if not, then proceed to activate via Diagnostic tool:

This is for Lexia
  • Connect the diagnostic tool on the vehicle.
  • Select "Diagnosis"
  • Enter the vehicle details, then its RPO number
  • Start the "Global Test"
  • Select the menu « BSI », then validate using key « * ».
  • Select the item « Configuration ».
  • Select the item « Manual configuration ».
  • Select the menu « CUSTOMER OPTIONS »
There are then 3 Sections to ensure the correct parameters are made:

Type of daytime-running lamps
Change from No Daytime Running Lamps to
Dedicated Daytime Running Lamps

Scroll down until you find:
Lighting by default of Daytime Running lamps - Configure as NO

Then find:
Simultaneous Lighting of daytime running Lamps and sidelamps
Configure NO

Once you have validated the options above and closed the session that should be it. Then repeat the first steps to access the steering wheel menu - which should now show the option to activate the DRLs.

I don't have the procedure for Diagbox - but if it does launch Diagbox by default, run the Global Test as normal, then you should be able to select the BSI and from there locate the relevant section for exterior lighting. The options should be the same as those I described above.

Good Luck! :-D

PM sent, Florrynel. You should see (up at the top right, in the banner area) an item marked Private messages, which should now be highlighted in some way.

That link gives an almost blank page apart from the title and some text saying there is no text on this page. Do I need to log in again somewhere or what?

Lexia Diagnostics

Unread post by Cfiver »

A few weeks ago I purchased a Lexia scanner from Easy Diagnostics.
They kindly offered to install the program remotely for me and I was up and running in no time.
This was great for me as a first time user as it allowed me to immediately get to grips with using the tool.
Everything was going well until I decided to install AVG Anti Virus which then removed a lot of the Lexia files and rendered it unusable.
No Problem as I contacted Jim once again who very kindly reloaded everything for me.
I cannot praise these people enough for their quality goods and excellent After Sales Service.
In addition to this their new website is excellent and contains a really good parts finder with very clear diagrams and part numbers which
is so much better than anything I have been able to find elsewhere.
Also there will be a new video section very shortly with tutorials etc on using the scanner.
Jim is available, and is only too happy to help out with any queries or advice by email, Skype or the Website.

Well, Florrynel now has DRLs enabled on his C5 X7 (done through Diagbox), thanks in no small part to Marc. However, there are a couple of things we need to find out. How do we let the car know when the fuel additive has been topped up, and can we change the timing for the car going into economy mode, as it does so fairly quickly?

I think the only way to 'reset' the time the car goes into economy mode is to go through the battery charge testing procedure via Diagbox. It'd be wise to make sure the battery is fully charged beforehand, then you have to delve into Diagbox and find the section to do with running a battery charge status test - it'll ask you if you want to do this with a Midtronics tester, click 'Yes' to that, then it'll ask you in a sort of disbelieving fashion - "Are you sure you've got a Midtronics tester ?" at which point you look at your feet and sheepishly click 'No'. It'll then allow you to perform the measurement test via a series of procedures: run the engine, turn the lights on, stand on one leg, that sort of thing :)

Well done chaps - result :-D

Unlike the older C5s there isn't a way to change the economy mode timings on the X7. You can only temporarily disable it whilst in Diagbox for undertaking certain procedures as Bobins says.

Re the fuel additive, this should be in the injection menu and the procedure should be there to follow. I think you may have to turn the ignition on / off at some point to affect the change.

The economy mode in later C5s (x7s certainly) seems to be 'difficult' and related to the amount of time the engine was last run, with the maximum seeming to be around 35 minutes.
