Help with VIN please.

Hi everyone! I've just registered here.

Because of an accedent, my old ZX is totally damaged. So I'm going to buy a "new" Xantia V6. I got the VIN number from the seller. Can you please help me with any information for it: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I should add that all I can get is the usual stuff from Servicebox, not sure if thats what he's after given we can't get car history!

Yes, the full specs are more than is normally available Stu and if the OP wants a history check then there are probably paid services he can access in his native country.

A Xantia V6 will certainly be a step up from a ZX!

The build spec of V6s does not vary much, as they have many features as standard (this is especially true with RHD cars). Assuming that yours would be LHD, then they came in 3 main favours, SX, Exclusive, and Activa. SX usually had manual transmission (Activa always), and Exclusive usually had automatic transmission and Cruise Control. The interior trim spec is slightly higher for Exclusive (this was optionally available on the Activa).

The following were optional on all 3 variants:

• Leather or half-leather seats.
• Headlight washers
• Heated seats
• Sunroof
• CD changer (probably standard fitting on series 2)

Something I never bake actually but reading this thread has just reminded me I have a fruit cake in the oven that is nearly done!

I must go and check on it - don't want it burned to a crisp!
