Re: Anyone done the Scotland route 500 on 4 wheels?
All done, did get to see a couple of Dolphins thanks.
Applecross Pass certainly is an epic drive. Anyone thinking abouta doing the NC500 needs to just do it.
The good old C5 2.2 did a great job with 50mpg from Inverness to near Leicester and that's giving it the beans and cruise set to 74mph. Done 460 miles in 8 hours straight.
Oh got some take outs from the north.

Re: Anyone done the Scotland route 500 on 4 wheels?
Absolutely chuffed to bits to see the "Old Engine Oil" in your fridge , and the other souvenirs too!
I take it the interior shot means that you engaged in a bit of "car camping". Our Citroen Picasso was ideal for that, whip the back seats out and plenty of room to stretch out....so was the C5 a comfortable car-camper?
Love the pics...keep them coming if you have more.
Of course the official complimentary "Old Engine Oil" from the Pickled Egg, can only be awarded for a pic of an AA Box with the mode of transport in front of it....
Regards Neil

I feel a Highland rally coming on...
Glen Torridon
Only trouble is, for me, that means an International one, and a resort to the piggy bank (two dogs and three cats) .

Yes a bit of car camping no fancy B&B for me. Not sure what's next for me and the old C5...Ireland any good not been there?
In fact only been out the UK twice both in the early 90's a France booze run for a day and 2 weeks to ibiza. Never appealed much going abroad.

If a highland rally/cruise took place it would be horribly rude for me not to go, since I am only 60 miles from Inverness [emoji4]

Stunning up there, this year I've been in Kirtomy near Bettyhill, Sutherland and Ullapool, Wester Ross. I always feel I'm going home my mum is MacKay and the clan seat is Tongue,Sutherland.
the road over to Applecross is amazing the gaelic name translates to the pass of cattle. I'm hoping to cycle it soon.

We like Bettyhill and the stunning beach to the west of it 'Torrisdale'. The view as you come to the top of the road from Lairg looking over Tongue is amazing. Not been over to Applecross side for sometime.

Our dog likes Farr beach for a run around. The café at the museum is great and does great fish and chips on Friday and Saturday freshly made to order.
