The guy holding onto it is the driver, reversing it into a parking space (no reverse gear).

I have a photo from the front, but that would give the game away.
The best match I can find so far is a Velorex from Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic

It's basically a copy Austin J plonked on the chassis and running gear of this, so you are spot on with your observation.

but continuing to this day , in no small way down the terrain and weather conditions which it suited well with its 4WD and high ground clearance. There was even a hydropneumatic suspension prototype in the 1950's which impressed in trials, travelling at speed over rough ground, but was ultimately rejected by the Red Army as too complicated, and never made it into production. New ones cost around 15,800 Euros.

Am I right in decoding the registration plate as being French from Departement 21 Cote D'or with that little assembly taking place in France? Underneath the leather does there lie a JAWA motorcycle?

Just a recall for our trio from Mammoth Country

Not too difficult...not a vast array of possible manufacturers to filter through to come up with the answer.

In the meantime here's a one-spanner degree of difficulty whatsthisthen? Its got the full reg there and without checking I'd say dutch or eastern european....but the burning question .....Does it warrant a place at the Bakelite Museum in Somerset?(the setting for the picture)....is it indeed made out of bakelite?

That's a Trabant and made out of a material called 'Duroplast' Neil, a material made from cotton rags soaked in resin allegedly!

Excellent work Jim......bit more substantial than elast-o-plast then. Only Trabant I have come across was light blue.
Any ideas on the bike?

No, the bike is a mystery to me... Not been into bikes long enough to recognise the oddballs yet Neil!

Nothing I like better than an oddball :!: :-D

I don't have a great knowledge of bikes but the internet sure does, and I also like a bit of clue solving! First thing I noticed was the wheels.....8 "spokes" if my eyes are not deceiving me....must narrow the options down straight away.

Yes they are bike wheels....but not as I know them Jim :-D all mine have had wire spokes. They look like "alloys" or "plastics"....maybe even "carbon fibres"

A unique double here...a whatsthisthen? and an AA Box (No.553 in the background (not one of the 19 if thats any help)).

I think there are one or two members of the FCF, who could recognise the car straight away.
