Sounds like it could be your Clutch / Flywheel on the way / release bearing / contamination (oil) on the clutch. Best to get it checked though as it won't do it any good with the judder.

I forgot to add. The car has only 35 000km. Produced in 2011. I suppose that i do something wrong during shifting gears. It cannot be a technical fault because i have been in service recently.
In two other (much older) cars i dont have problem with shifting.

Re: Citroen C5 shifting gears...
Just be prepared - the C5 X7s clutches and DMFs can go very quickly - some clutches have worn in under 20k miles (32k Km) I am on my second clutch and DMF at 64k Km. Normally you will get some slippage generally in 5th or 6th gear when flooring it if it is on the way out. Another possibility is the clutch pressure plate could be worn, preventing the it from pushing the clutch friction plate against the engine flywheel properly. It is best to get it checked out though because it could be several other things (driveshaft, gearbox misaligned etc.). Have you had any work done on the car recently that has resulted in the juddering starting?Mihi wrote:I forgot to add. The car has only 35 000km. Produced in 2011. No, nothing has been done. I have had my car checked and everything is ok according to professional mechanic. But even if I concetrate to shift gear perfectly, I cannot do it smoothly.

Well if it is juddering considerably, then it does not sound ok and you should get a second opinion - I would suggest you take it to another garage or the dealer if you can, for a proper check.

According to another mechanic everything is allright. In my opinion, jerking a bit is nature of this car.

Well you'll have to be the best judge of that, as we can't tell how bad it is without seeing or hearing it - so it's difficult for us to know. If you've taken it to a couple of mechs and they both say it's fine, then it may be your expectations of the car are different to what you are used to.Mihi wrote:According to another mechanic everything is allright. Check also the engine mountings. Excessive fore-aft movement will make it difficult to change gear without a jolt. Easy to check by watching the engine movement as you gently engage the clutch, while parked.
One sign of wear/slop in the DMF, or clutch slip, is difficulty doing a hill start, without using lots of engine revs.
