Weird Coincidence

Post by Hell Razor5543 »

I don't know if it was planned this way, but if it was, then the Forum planners came up with something clever (or, rather, cleverer than their normal level!).

I had logged in as usual, and while thinking about other things, noticed the top logo badges (Citroen Chevrons, Peugeot Lion, and Renault Diamond). Fair enough, we all know they are there. I then noticed that they were in alphabetical order. Nothing wrong there. I then (for some reason) went onto their initials; C.P.R.

Yikes! I know the forum was set up to help French car owners who had problems with their cars, but this is ridiculous. I know that the forum has helped both Gracie and I, in fixing problems on Gracie and cheering me up. Has anybody else noticed the CPR bit?

Swedes have one called citroenakuten, literally Citroen Emergency Room.

Hadn't noticed the CPR though :)

The banner was designed especially for the forum by another member. I think, knowing him, he, like me likes things to be orderly and hence in alphabetical order. I think that's the only thing and it being CPR is just a coincidence...

Love it. :-D I never usually notice things like this, although I did notice that HAL in 2001 is one letter before IBM....

OK forum admins, has the logo image across the top of the forum been changed since 2013 ?

I have a strong recollection of the order of the logos being Citroen, Peugeot, Renault, hence the rather amusing CPR play on words that was noted in this thread.

Today I look and the order is now Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, thus ruining the joke! Spoil sports.

Yes it has Simon mainly because the French flag was reversed...

In the UK, to show the Union Jack upside-down is tantamount to treason and we assume the penalty for showing the French Tricolour backwards would involve a guillotine...

Sorry it's spoiled the joke... Never tried CPR on a car... RPC is a nasty IT-related acronym... Remote Procedure Call

OK, I can understand why the flag issue needed to be corrected, but PLEASE, can we have the CPR joke back? It may have been accidental, but it makes people who spot it smile (and yes, we have brought back some French cars from the dead!).

So if the image has just been flipped, was the Peugeot Lion the wrong way around before as well ?

The Peugeot lion was the correct way around in the old banner. The new one just amended the flag colours and the order of the badges. I can't remember why the badges moved but there was a reason.

Surely which way round the colours appear on a tricolour depends on which side you are looking at, as the red will always be nearest the flagpole. N'est pas?
