Is I-Spy the old Pokemon Go?

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Must admit i dont have much ìdea what pokemon go is other than its quite trendy just now.

It does séem to be a bit like AA box spotting and involves literally going to the location to find the Pokemon via your smartphone of course ànd taking a picture.

So a litle bit treasure hunt little bit I-Spy.

Maybe i should send Pokemon inc a postcard and ask them to place a Pokemon at each of the remaining 19 AA box locations in the UK and watch the FCF's little summer game go viral :-D

Trouble is Neil, I think it lacks a certain mass appeal to be a big hit :(

I'm getting more and more into it and is giving me even more reason to ride long distances on the bike in search of them ;)

As I say I know very little about this Pokemon go thing, but it is probably one of the few apps or whatever is the right term, to actively involve actually going out into the great outdoors doing and seeing stuff :-D

Yes I prefer the original I-Spy personally. Saying that, if I did possess a smartphone, I think I would be curious enough to give it a go see for myself whether it was any good or not

Didn't realise how bang up to date this Pokemon Go thing is....it was only released in the UK last week 14th July, the 5th Country in the world after the US, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.

Now if it was more like simple I-Spy, I think i would be good, but the modern Homo sapiens needs a bit more mindless entertainment than that it seems, so these virtual pokemons require catching, and having pokeballs thrown at them.

The game does have its side effects in the real world apparently, and controversy too about accessing sensitive memorial sites as part of the game.
from wiki
National parks across the United States saw an influx of visitors due to the game, with "hundreds or thousands" of people visiting the National Mall and Memorial Parks in Washington, D.C. on the weekend following Pokémon Go's release in the country. Small museums with PokéStops placed at exhibits also reported increased attendance, such as the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas, and the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Boca Raton, Florida.

Yes maybe Pokemon Go is insurprisingly not for me either, but I-Spy AA boxes, Viaducts, Bridges of the World, and UK Fingerposts that would be a different kettle of fish. :) Wonder if the people at I-Spy have an app for it...

Apparently there have been a few accidents as a result of Pokemon Go. I think they should develop Mario Kart.Go for sat navs. "Sorry officer wasn't my fault I crashed I.skidded on a banana and got hit by a turtle shell."

I've just I-spied the Battle of Britain Memorial flight.......thought it sounded a bit different fro the normal easy jets and Thomas cooks! Went out in the garden, and sure enough there was the Lancaster, and it's two little sidekicks making a very nice racket as they passed overhead.

proper I-spy that :)

Poke'n'go

Kuwait's Interior Ministry warned users last week not to play the game at mosques, shopping centres, malls and oil installations.
