C5 retro fit cruise control

Hi
I'm going to fit cruise control to my 2003 C5 diesel estate , I've ordered the extra brake switch and got the stalk.
From what I've been reading , I will need the system activating on Lexia , but apart from our main dealers , I don't know where I can get this done.
Im in Grimsby , NE Lincs.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

To fit and configure the CC stalk is a very simple process, but it will (as you have found out) require a Lexia for the activation stage. There are members who have Lexia clones, and are willing to help. Here is the relevant link;

You will need to make sure that switch is the right one (push to BREAK, as opposed to push to make), and that it is correctly fitted (so as to deactivate the CC). Once that is done, remove the lower steering column shroud. You will see that there is a hole that has been blanked off by a simple cover (and this is on the other side of the Comm2000 from the audio stallk). Remove the cover, and slide the CC stalk into place, making sure it latches (if it does not, it may be because there is a support on the CC stalk that is too thick; as there are different makes of the Comm2000 unit the PSA group had to allow for this). If it does not latch, remove that support and try again.

Once the CC stalk is fitted, connect up the Lexia and run the diagnostics (I do as a matter of course). Once it has completed, go into the driver switch module first. Within this menu is the option to test the CC stalk. There are 4 checks, and these test the three buttons and the on/off switch. Assuming these work, you can now activate the CC system.

Go into the injection menu. I think you then go into the configuration sub menu, and scroll down to Cruise Control. Select it, and there are two options; present and absent (absent by default). Highlight Present and press enter. Then click on configuration (I believe pressing F1 will also do this, but I am NOT sure), and follow the instructions (turn off ignition and wait 20 seconds, IIRC). All being well, your C5 not only will have the CC stalk, but knows what it is for.

Hey guys many thanks for your help.
What a great forum !
I like the idea of the National Show, my mate has a Traction Avant , might see if he fancies a trip too.
Will be doing the CC fitting next weekend so I'll post up how things are looking.
There is someone near Boston who has Lexia , not too far.
