12 star Number plates

Post by Richard_C »

So are we going to have to by new number plates - or can we just cover up the 12 stars in the EU bit with sticky tape in 2 years time?

Anyway, off to trade in my French cars for a Wolseley 1300 and pack a wicker picnic hamper so I can motor down to the County Ground to watch some cricket (Press fast rewind)

Nissan have said they'll leave, which makes it odd that Sunderland voted to leave.

Well it sort of puts the kybosh on 'has been' and 'never was' politicians getting all expenses paid and large salary postings as EU commissioners, the Kinnocks, Mandelson for instance.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Absolutement!

Malta adopted EU plates years before they joined so clearly that blue sidebar means nothing.

Never understood why people bought them anyway (not like they were mandatory here anyway - one of the few things we opted out of, it seems) unless they went to other member states frequently (which doesn't explain all the buses & taxis that have them). Probably does mean that the exemption from GB plates will go - but I've not had a compliant one on anything for, must be,10 years now - & no one's ever even commented on it :-D

I have them on my Activa simply because I had aspirations of driving to France and that would have saved sticking a GB plate on the car...

Now I'm unlikely ever to leave the UK shores again, the need is now passed...

They could become collectors' or cult items for 48% of the population.

They can have mine any time. I still have my plates without the 12 stars and GB on it to refit...
