Replacement Feet

Post by Hell Razor5543 »

As per the title, does anybody either have or know where I can get a pair of replacement feet, as my current pair are knackered? I was looking after the EPoS equipment at Royal Ascot this week (from 11th June to 18th/19th June), and on Saturday I was there from 08:00 to 02:00 Sunday morning. Anyway, here are some pictures from Royal Ascot this year;

Royal Ascot has been around longer than the USA! The first Royal race meeting at the Eastcote Heath race course was on 11th August 1711, while the American Declaration of Independence was on 4th July 1776, so Royal Ascot was almost a pensioner when the USA came into being!

I recall one year at Royal Ascot when I pissed off a arrogant Yank, and had a humble American smiling within a couple of hours of each other.

The arrogant Yank was belittling Royal Ascot every chance he got (basically, America does everything bigger and better than everybody else), and I finally said "Well, this little racing event has been around for longer than the Useless States of America". Well, he did not like this comment, and demanded I take it back, to which I replied that with an attitude like his the USA really was the Useless States of America. He stormed off to ironic applause and comments of "flush that attitude down the tubes", and I got a few pats on the back.

The humble American was saying how much he liked coming to Europe. He loved the USA (and would not give it up for anything), but he admitted that they had not yet been around long enough to develop a true culture of their own. I said that Royal Ascot had been around since before the United States of America, and was able to show him some details of the history of Royal Ascot. He was delighted, and said something like "THIS is why I love Europe".

That is a long day on the feet. Takes me back to one-week stints at NEC for IPEX (print industry exhibition, all 10 Halls). I think after day two, the pain subsides.

But Hell's Bells, whatever happened to that topiary?
The l in Royal is back to front, and the s on Ascot is upside down!

I didn't spot those, and I doubt the Ascot Authority did either. I wonder how many people who had their photographs in front of that noticed them either?

It is alright, he did not have to go into the Royal Enclosure. Mind you, we lost him on Friday, mixed in with all of the other blue suits!

Just as I thought you couldn't get worse, sartorially, than brown shoes with one of THOSE suits (a look my mother compared to "an Irishman at a funeral" - for reasons even now I'm not sure I understood) I saw someone this morning who completed the ensemble with - yellow socks!

I am going to have to get braces for Royal Ascot next year. Those pinstripe trousers do not have belt loops, and at the end of the week they appeared to be larger than at the start, as they tried to fall down a lot more on Saturday than they did on Tuesday.

I remember a story of an Aussie car dealer who had a strict dress code for his salesmen and sacked one of them on the spot for turning up with socks that didn't match the code.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.
