I need help.

Post by daviemck2006 »

Not literally do i need help, altjough some may argue that lol.

Whilst at the northern a few weeks ago I spoke to a man from the Glasgow area, I think his wife was or is something to do with the ccc. He was in a Renault motor caravan and at some point had a xantia, which had a towbar which he has removed, he knows I want a towbar and I was going to contact him so I could meet him on the way north from picking up my car from Jim's with the view of a deal being struck and me getting said towbar. I was silly enough not to take his phone number and now even remember his name! He was a really nice older gentleman. I wonder if anyone can identify him from this little information so I can get in touch with him.

I spoke to him at yesterday's DS Rally Davie but have no clue as to his name or contact details. It only stood out as he told me he was once ran a Citroen specialist garage, ran Xantias and now runs a Renault Motorhome...

I read this thread 24 hours too late - otherwise the details could have been obtained...

He may still be at Little Horwood trying to get out.... The field looked like a quagmire yesterday afternoon and that was before two torrential thunderstorms!

Davie, the guy you're looking for is Bill Wright. He's on this forum, his username is BW.

David.
Thanks David. I thought you would know. I shall go send him a pm and hope he gets it today or tomorrow. I'm intending coming up the m1, m6, m74 tomorrow and stop in a b&b about Glasgow somewhere and get home Wednesday afternoon.

No worries, Davie. Any problems then give me a shout. It's Houston that he lives in, about 5 minutes from me.

Cheers!

I got him on pm David, and hoping to be with him maybe about 9 pm tomorrow evening. Then I think I shall head over the Erskine bridge and up to Fort William, then aviemore Grantown on spey then home. All these roads would be made for an activa and should be deserted between 10 pm and 2 am!
That depends how I feel by that time I may as earlier thought find a b&b and sleep for a while.

It's not really dark that long up here Alisdair! TBH though I think I'll look for a b&b once I see bill and pick up the towbar. I will enjoy a run home through the highlands if I can see it. When I drove coaches I drove highland league football team coaches for a few years. I used to love the trip to Fort William, even in a full size coach it was a lovely run. I pushed it quite hard at times, it's amazing how quickly you can cover ground in a coach, even being limited to 100kph/62mph allegedly.
