Same here on Ubuntu and Linux Mint. (Firefox, Chromium & Arora)

Reinstalled Ubuntu last week Jim - dual boot with Mint.
It seems to be working OK again, perhaps they picked up on whatever bugs were affecting it. (16.04 Xenial Xerus).
