Actually it is real, it's your constabulary that own it Alasdair. It's used for biker education rather than chasing Activa so you're still safe.

Give it to the Italians.

I'm actually quite surprised the police have not yet found some way to extract cash from walkers they consider a danger to other pavement users...

Well, for those of us with a modest fascination for numbers and symmetry. Who notice when the milometer turns round from 99999 to 100000, or even minor alignments such as 123,321 or 123,456 or even 111,111 111,222 et cetera and so on and so forth, or purposely reset the trip counter to achieve 123,456 on the main milometer, with 789.0 on the trip meter on their dials...

well the next post is for you. It will be (assuming I have bagged the 999th reply here), the 1,000th reply and 1001 post in total. (seeing as the OP was not a reply!)

..and the association 1001 has with me........the carpet cleaner for less than half a crown! of course.

My first car was a Mini 1000, but in reality was a Mini 998 obviously engine designers couldn't be bothered to give it the full 1000cc's for some reason.

I hope you engineered somewhere significant for the magic moment like ceremoniously crossing the World's oldest iron bridge in everyday use!

Don't know what it was, but saw something I'd say was 40s or 50s era open top, British Racing Green, straight six powered as I came out of the Morrison's car park this evening.

Heard it long before I saw it, straight six from that era is quite a distinctive noise!

Saw one of these, only in Green bouncing merrily up the street, passenger reaching for the sea-sick pills :!: :!: Nice looking with a decent polish though..

No, sadly it happened on a desolate stretch of the A303 but I did have my old 2.1TD pass 100K going past the Angel of the North which as rather special... No picture of that though sadly...

That bridge is but a swallow's flight from my house and I cross it every day...
