The factory service manual for the GS is fantastic. I had one when I had a GS but it is long gone now.

Don't know whether this will help:
http://www.ebaman.com/index.php/remosit ... itroen/GS/

Go for Files Area > Motor > Citroen > GS
You'll need to register, and then files are printable pdf's.

The factory manual is in two books; 008101 & 008102. Characteristics, adjustments, checks, and Mechanical components, electrical system, bodywork.
Some things are better described, and there are many more photographs, but the Hyenas will get you through.

I'm guessing you have hardcopy - is it hard to get hold of?

Apologies - I didn't realise the Ebaman manual above was in Swedish. It's been a useful source of manuals for a while (the XM manuals run to several volumes). I should have opened the GS/GSA files to inspect! Pics and circuits might be useful, even if text impenetrable.

Sorry - I didn't mean to sound ungrateful, as that wasn't a complaint at all. It's still better than nothing! :-D
Maybe this will be an incentive to learn Swedish after all ;)

Got mine from Rob Moss at Chevronics many years ago. May have been about £30 - maybe.

Click on the "Citroen publications" link and there will appear a variety of downloadable sections in pdf form.

a bad news and a good news regarding sunroof.
peeled the sealant and opened it up and most of the visible part of the tray looks rustfree. There is a bit of rust around the front drain tubes.
Water drained well on the front right drain, front left needed a bit of poking around - will need to give a good poking.
The leading edge of the sun roof panel itself was falling apart though - chunks of rust fell off every time I touched there (will post photos later).
Question - how much gap is a good amount between the seal and the sun roof opening?

Does your manual have parts list as well?
It would be super handy to have one - I think I found one online (for GS) but it seems to cover mechanical parts only (no body/interiors)

My manuals do not have a parts list as such, but if you can access my drop-box you will find a manual for the GS '72 on in there, which I believe has been loaded up by Tony Jackson. You won't find any reference to sun-roof parts, but my manual 008102 includes bodywork, and there are six pages on the sun-roof. I have loaded that into the drop-box also. Drop-box accounts are free, though you might have to register to access. If it comes up with a window asking for log in details, try clicking it away with the cross (X) in the top right corner. Works for me - but I do have a drop-box account.

Scanned - yes, though they have not come out too well through pdf format. I've scanned the four pages with images in again. They are in greyscale in the manual, and quite grainey;

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ciaram8iw8kz ... 2.jpg?dl=0

The manual also shows all body parts and methods of replacing same, along with jigs for checking tolerances, and various tools; dimensions and so forth.
