TOP GEAR PRESENTER

Unread post by ACTIVE8 »

What happened to Jason Dawe?
He appeared on Top Gear when it returned to our screens, with the one hour format on Sunday evenings, some time ago. He was the fat boy not slim!
When they returned with a new series, he was not presenting anymore.
I actually saw him the other night on Watchdog, being asked to comment on why Peugeot 206's keep cutting out.

LOL. that'll be the day. Ah yes I remember it well. Sitting on the front wall watching dad replace a ball joint on our sisters boy friends new Allegro super. Always remember a rally special featuring the Lancia Stratos (a mans car if ever there was one). And then looking at dads 1.3 Marina and thinking why?

I actually think these 3 work really good together, and have always thought the little fella was good when he was on men & motors, Mrs paranoid even watches it[:)]

Watched as a piece of motor based entertainment its great, much better than the old days of po-faced roadtesting of mundane cheap cars, and, as with mrs paranoid, mrs bxbodger and the little bxbodgers watch it as well!
I noticed the format has been pinched for a food show now on BBC2-3 presenters, studio audience, prerecorded outside bits, and guest cook.

Is that the one where thet cook some top food and then taste it and say it's rubbish? Never understood this format my self but it shows that not all foods is agood as it looks.

I agree it's a great show, and very entertaining. [:)]
True they are not going to feature the types of cars that we drive, the Suzuki is a about as close as they might get to the average motorists car.
I think that some of the other programmes on the box feature more about the average motorists cars.
Top Gear entertains, because it is lively, interesting, and works well with the one hour format. [:D]
The thing is with the recent cut backs at the BBC, and the rumours of programme changes, apparently They Think It's All Over might not return. Well if they decide to do the same with Top Gear then it will be a sad day, because on terestial TV it's the most watchable fun programme for petrolheads, (like us) and the average motorist.

Apart from Top Gear, the other TV highlight for me was Wheelerdealers, sadly not on last week-I was most depressed as its a top comedy!! If you have never seen it, the "dealer" buys a "modern classic" aka piece of rubbish, the "mechanic then bodges it up, and they then sell it and make a loss on it[:D]
My favourite one was the Suzuki Jeep, and if you have never seen it watch H&L channel for the reruns........you will die laughing!!!!!
