You'd be suprised Al, theres a fair few people into their older cars, the other forum i frequent has members with 405's, Axs and the like! although you'll definately see more lowered meganes on silly wheels with blacked out windows. I won't be there unfortunately due to work commitments (booo!) but there will be love for the car. just leave the bonnet open with that engine you could eat off :rofl2:

LOL....I know I know.

I for one don't like many of the cars "style" but I can only go WOW at the quality of the work on many of them. I am quite tolerant of street style and such the type of social gatherings that said "clans" participate in having been a London Boy for most of my "enjoyment" years.
I grew up with blacked out windows, boom boom boom and tail lights you cannot see, any conversations can be about Cars, HP and Tyre grip.

However, I agree there are quite few very well clued up guys at such shows (mechanical/paint/trim ect) so I will treat it as an educational trip. I have decided I would rather not camp :)

I will try to avoid "it needs bigger rims m8" comments as much as possible but will hunt out paint finishing techniques and materials. I will also be looking for some ideas regarding calipers and disks. There are few options available to us so it would be good to see the inventive "parts shelf" solutions the conversion guys have worked out.

Looking forward to seeing what these guys do to some of the classic Pugs, the 405/205 can stake to the street style quite well (except Lambo doors which are always crap)

I have a feeling the car will get a few good sessions of "Citroen aerobics" demonstrating it doing its SLAM-thing and pouring scorn and derision on those with Air-Bags that "do the same thing m8" :)

One thing I don't recall seeing in your blog Alasdair is what tyres you have on the Activa, and how do you find them compared to any others it might have previously had fitted ?

Time for me to buy four new tyres for my Xantia, it can't be put off any longer... :?

I have Michelin Pilots 205/60/15's, I managed to source a couple of sets. I changed from Conti PremContact, which I did not like on a 60 tyre (it jiggles on the tyre wall).
So OEM

I like them as they have given a massive increase of confidence in what the car is doing and what I am about to ask it to do. I cannot speak for other tyres. David has just gone with a more modern Michelin tyre I think.

Pilot 205/60/15s ... they must be some age now. Thought they had been discontinued years ago?
