While it is a lovely colour, based on what I have read it will be somewhat tricky to reproduce that particular shade again.

Spotted a mint looking red R plate Saxo 1.1 in Morrison's car park this evening. Funny that you still see 106s pretty regularly, can't remember last time I saw a Saxo though.

Used to sell a lot of them back at the garage in both Pug and Citroen forms, seemed decent little cars - though only people with tiny feet could drive them I seem to recall. Remember the VTR was a hoot as well...though a pig to work on as the engine was really too big for the engine bay...

I've had two 106, a L reg original version and a P reg "new" one, it was 10 years old and still had the new sticker on the boot, and had no problems driving them with size 11 Dr Martins boots!

I had a 106 XR on an R plate, a 1.4, the new shape. Great car and utterly sublime handling, perhaps the best handling car ever. It could be put exactly where you wanted every single time, but the ride was lovely too.

The TU engines are perfect in the 106/saxo. Try a DW based 206, you can't fit a hand between the car and the cam cover! I'm a shortarse too so was a peach to drive.

I loved my VTR, it was dirt simple motoring and a few simple mods made it damn near stupid off the line. I ended up with a 1.1 gearbox mated to mine, which was the later 98hp with the revised head and inlet design. It shifted i tell you, shocked many a person! And with proper sorted suspension it was stuck like s**t on a shovel!

Alas it had a hard life so ended up scrapped when the 1.1 box finally let go after 50k, with the whole car having done 176k miles, most of them as a delivery driver so driven hard and stop start. It stood up to so much abuse you'd thought it'd die sooner but was only ever off the road for a few days at a time.

I'd happily have another one, ditch the interior and live at Oulton :rofl2:

The Kas do seem to be really bad for rust, we were looking at some for a mate a few years back and every one we found had pretty serious rot problems.

Today I saw a lovely looking dark silver 'S' reg XM estate (with tow bar) on the M27, which turned off at Fareham. Then, on the way to Bognor Regis I saw an off white Ami, but no further details.

Strangely enough, I saw an off white Ami traveling between Haslemere and Midhurst last Friday evening..... I'm sure there can't be two off white Ami's down in this neck of the woods :)
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

In all the running between here and Somerset I'm doing just now I see very little of interest but did spot a tidy green Xantia in Langport yesterday.

No sign of interest despite me travelling slowly in the opposite direction in an Activa with a very distinctive plate... I guess the owner was just an owner and not really interested in Xantias generally...

Whilst going from Wetherby to the b&b in Harrogate yesterday evening I passed a 205 gti in miami blue going in the opposite direction being driven bu a young blonde lady. Very pretty. The car and the lady [WHITE SMILING FACE] I did have a bit of car envy!
