Do not. I repeat do not race one with a Clio. it will end in tears
It would give it a good run Russ.....certainly not as comfortable but the ClioCup is a fantastic handling car and very quick round the twisted bits.

The reason I say this is because the citroën section of the forum is by far the most active.
It's quite simple. Renault and Peugeot are quite boring and their faults can be dealt with by any old forum.

Citroens, proper Citroens that is need specialist knowledge and this has over the years become the place to find and share that knowledge.

The forum has developed into a historical resource where information on a long list of classic car solutions are mixed with those of modern ones.
The fact the solutions are often similar is a reflection of the long term use of the suspension system and general engineering of the Citroen as a "developed marque" that has a lineage.

A town is not "thick" because it has a large library :).......
(Note: unless it is Birmingham which is thick for paying so much for theirs)

Most of citroen issues are design flaws and bad wiring looms.

Just search for french cars problems/ citroen common issues/ citroen problems/ citroen wiring issues/ common citroen issues and you will come to this forum where they provide the help they needed.

Just had to say this after many years of driving a citroen. It's just bad design on some spots and all cars have them but, citroen have the worst spots everytime.

I think French cars a under rated.

Yes you can get issues with electrical faults, our departed Clio Dci had the usual intermittent Airbag light problems.

But a lot of issues are due to people not fixing things properly or just ignoring them until the problem developed into something bigger.

I sold my Xantia TD a few years ago due to the clutch slipping mainly.

The chap that bought it, I think from this forum, could do the work himself.

I miss that Xantia but I was not in the position to be able to pay somebody to replace the clutch on it at the time.

French cars are comfortable though.

That's a fact.
Xantia 2.0SX estate (now sold)
Xantia 1.9 TD SX hatch 102K (all old MOT'S) and working A/C.(Sold to forum member, time to save for a C5)
2007 Berlingo Multispace 1.4i Forte, bought in November with genuine 27k miles, now on 39799 miles.

That link is a bit rubbish. It's misleading too. In a nutshell, it says "we can't be bothered to find the faults and they are hard to diagnose without the correct diagnostic computer"..

So, just like any make of modern car then? Chap at work just shelled out £2000 to have a turbo and 1 injector replaced in his 05 plate BMW 3 series... Google VW PD diesel pump problems or VW electronic handbrake problems or... whatever.

All makes of cars have problems.

Many French car problems are seen on forums like this because some of us buy them when they are 15 years old with 175,000 miles on the clock! What do you expect from a car with such age and mileage? I'd say the opposite and that they're actually pretty well built cars - early C5 HDi, Berlingos, 306s, 406/7.. there's loads of them left with massive miles on.

I bought my first Citroen in 1990 and I've driven them ever since - even persuaded the family to drive them as well. Our little Saxo is 18 years old and she's never been inside a garage - apart to get new MOT certificates.

My Berlingo has cost me about a grand in repairs and tyres over the 5/6 years and 73,000 miles I've done in it. I don't think that's bad at all. It's all been "consumables" - tyres, brakes, springs, shocks and belts.
